On 30th May 2026, Naromoru Disabled Children’s Home successfully hosted the 5th Edition of the Mount Kenya Challenge, bringing together more than 200 participants who shared a common goal of transforming the lives of children with disabilities. The annual event once again demonstrated the power of community, compassion, and collective action in creating meaningful change.
Participants from different backgrounds came together to take on the challenge of climbing Mount Kenya, not only as a test of endurance but also as a symbol of solidarity with children living with disabilities. Every step taken represented a commitment to promoting inclusion, raising awareness, and ensuring that children with disabilities receive the care, support, and opportunities they deserve.
We are delighted to announce that this year’s event raised more than KSh 6 million in support of children with disabilities at NDCH. This remarkable achievement would not have been possible without the generosity of our donors, the dedication of our participants, the support of our sponsors, and the tireless efforts of our volunteers and organizing team. Their unwavering commitment made this event a resounding success.
Beyond the funds raised, the Mount Kenya Challenge continues to serve as a platform for increasing awareness about the needs and potential of children with disabilities.
